Enter this sanctuary time by settling down, becoming quiet, and breathing deeply some breathes. Remind yourself you are in the Presence of Love. This place you are entering, within, is your inner Temple, where you are One with God. You may wish to use a mantra, or prayer phrase, follow the breathing in-and-out, or witness the arising and falling of all around you as the manifestation of universal-God. Enjoy these moments of quietly settling and, then, come out when your ready.

Whatever it is you wish to marry,
go, absorb yourself in that beloved,
assume its shape and qualities.
If you wish for the light, prepare yourself
to receive it; if you wish to be far from God,
nourish your egoism and drive yourself away.
If you wish to find a way out of this ruined prison,
don't turn your head away from the Beloved,
but bow in worship and draw near.

You have shown me the path of life,
you keep filling me with joy in your presence,
with endless pleasures you offer me always.

Have you had a friend whom you enjoyed being around? If you were struggling emotionally, just being with him or her lifted your spirits?

Our relationship with Grace can be uplifting. When consistently setting aside time to be with Her, we are more likely to see more clearly the way of true Life, to have joyful delight in connection with God, and enjoy the graces offered us to lighten our load and give us hope.

Recently, a person described relationships to a group study I was in. He compared such to an electrical circuit. When two persons are open to each other and working together on the relationship, even if they are struggling to relate the connection is present. If one shuts down effort and quits on the other, the relationship is over until the full circuit is in place again.

I find if I consistently practice time with the Divine, I sense Grace more in my life, and I feel more able to deal with daily stresses. Yet, I can feel in my emotions and physically when I get distracted from spending sufficient time in devotion set aside. When the energy is circulating between Love and me, I feel the joy of Presence, even in the most difficult of times.

What practices do you engage to keep the flow of Grace circulating between you and your God, as best you understand that One? Can you tell when you are not having enough time alone in devotion? Explain. What benefits do you experience by living close to the Presence?
